It’s my favorite time of the year! I LOVE the holidays for so many different reasons–the gathering of family and friends, the joy of giving gifts to the ones you love, the baking of xmas cookies, decorating the tree–it’s all my favorite! But one of the many things I like about the holidays as a Pediatric Physical Therapist is helping families choose gifts that will help their little ones learn and grow. Fisher Price Little People Caring for Animals Farm
This toy is actually a little nostalgic for me as I had this farm when I was a kid! Obviously, the design has changed a bit, but it’s still the great toy that it always has been. Fisher Price does such a great job with their Little People line of toys. They’re very engaging and allows the kids to use their imagination and pretend play!
Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Song & Story Learning Chair
I love this little chair and activity center! It’s too cute! I love that little ones can feel special having their own little chair that is just their size, and as a pediatric physical therapist, I love the sit to stands that they’ll be doing to strengthen those little leg muscles of theirs!
Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Ultimate Playhouse
This is another great toy from Fisher Price. It allows the little ones to move around the playhouse using their muscles to get in and out of the door as well as use their imaginations to pretend play at their own little house! We had this for our kids, and it was a huge hit from about 9-months until older toddlerhood!
Battat – Activity Cube – Educational Wooden Toys for Toddlers
This is an all-time favorite toy of mine. I have one of these in each of the clinics that I work in, and I absolutely LOVE them! I use this with infants all the way up through preschool. Yes, it may be a little pricier, but you will more than get your money’s worth out of this activity cube.
Another all-time favorite toy of mine. I love encouraging families to get those kiddos outside and moving and grooving in the fresh air and open space, and this classic toy by Little Tikes is at the top of my list. The kids have to use their leg muscles to move themselves around. It’s a great gross motor activity for little ones who can walk!
Softscape Toddler Playtime Corner Climber
I LOVE these soft foam climbing sets for little ones! I am always encouraging families to use these inside their homes to help build those core muscles in their little ones! Sliding, climbing, rolling, crawling, you name it! Set these up in the family room and let the little ones have at it! They’ll have a blast AND build some important core musculature in the process!
