If you’re a parent, then you know that toddlers are full of energy—but they also need the right kind of movement to build strong muscles, coordination, and motor skills.
Not every day allows for a trip to the park, so here are some easy Pediatric PT-approved movement activities you can do at home:
🎈 Pillow Paths: Line up couch cushions or pillows and let your toddler walk, crawl, or climb over them.
🎯 Tape Balance Beam: Stick painter’s tape on the floor in a line. Have them walk along it like a tightrope. Try walking backwards!
🦶 Animal Walks: Bear crawls, crab walks, frog jumps—great for core and coordination!
🎲 Movement Dice: Make a dice with actions like jump, spin, hop, tiptoe. Roll and go!
These activities build strength, balance, and coordination—all while your child is giggling and exploring. They don’t need to be long; just 10–15 minutes a day of purposeful movement can make a big difference.
If your toddler avoids movement, seems weaker than peers, or gets tired easily, a pediatric PT can help uncover the “why” and get them moving with confidence.
